Name, Gender, Rank, Species

Name
Pallis
Pronounced Pal-iss (iss rhymes with hiss)

-- Named after the supposed "god of the sun"
-- The strange markings under his eyes foretold that the would be hand chosen by the Azchtek to be the eater of hearts.

Rank
"Elite" Bounty Hunter
Pallis did not fight within the coliseums to gain his rank, instead, his owner directly picked him out because of his strong build and the fact that many of the conquerors spoke of the "One with jagged eyes". Rumors had spread that he had killed many an attacker. This automatically drew Aelius towards him in order to capture and gain a hunter that would actually gain him some gold for once, since he's hard on money due to his fighters doing terribly within the coliseums.

Later he was approached by Thanatos to become an Elite Hunter,

Owner
Aelius
Third Tier Owner
Aelius is a third class breeder and trainer within the city walls, which means that his appearances in the big leagues are few and far between. On occasion he will strike lucky in his fortunes and gain a cat that shows more than just slight potential. He tends to work with smaller felines such as Servals and Caracals in the coliseums but prefers to use much larger and more exotic animals as hunters. He only owns five cats as of this moment.

Owner Facts
--Was the previous owner of Dehlia.
--Owns three coliseum fighters
--Also owns Kallen, the white tiger.

Age
Starting Age: 5 Years Old
Current Age: 5 Years, 1 season

Personality, Biography, and History

Personality Traits, Background Information, and Character Quirks

Personality
{Cloak} - {Stern} – {Unbiased} – {Aloof} – {Loud} – {Judgmental} – {Ruthless} - {Cloak}
  • Cloak
  • Stern
Pallis has always been a stern character, even when he was a father raising three young cubs. He isn't willing to put up with stupidity and because of that, it reflects in his social life within the hunters. He isn't afraid to tell others where they are going wrong and isn't afraid to continue reiterating the the point until it gets through their thick skull. Though, after at least five tries he gives up entirely.
  • Unbiased
Because of where and how Pallis grew up, he is unbiased... meaning that he doesn't care who you are or what you've done, but you can leave him alone, thank you very much. He also doesn't care what level of a bounty hunter one is, if they aren't doing their job, their just as bad as one of the coliseum fighters, though he has seen many of those cats become extremely successful hunters.
  • Aloof
There aren't many things that can pull Pallis away from the world that is within his own mind. Why? Try loosing three cubs and a mate in one day while realizing that, in order for you to return home, you have to go out and capture felines for a living. It's so much worse than his old job, but eh, at least he can still kill/brutally harm felines in the process. The reason why he's so out of the loop when it comes to relationships is simple though; he has one task and one task alone. Once he gets enough gold for his master, he's heard that he can return home, which is all he really wants.
  • Judgmental
It may seem strange to hear that Pallis is both unbiased, yet extremely judgmental... Exactly how does that work? That's pretty easy, the male is, to simply put it, unbiased when it comes to telling one what their doing wrong, but when it comes to how a feline acts or what they are doing within the hunters as a whole, he can be fast to tell them exactly what he thinks about them... And to be honest? He's extremely disappointed with the hunters as a whole (besides Troy and Kallen, both of those cats are pretty chill according to him... do cats even say chill? Jeez I don't know) He wouldn't mind seeing more work from the hunters as a whole.
  • Ruthless
Since Pallis has killed countless numbers of humans and eating their hearts (This was Pre-hunters, mind you), he knows what to do when it comes to both killing and ensuring that a feline is incapacitated. Ruthlessness was breed into his very being, since he is from a line of jaguars that goes back to the dawn of human sacrifice. He loves blood, guts, gore, you name it, it gives him a rather sick and twisted sense of glee. He also enjoys inflicting pain upon another feline, and don't even get me started when it comes to his argumentative side. If he thinks you're wrong, or if you try to argue a point to him, he'll simply smack you down as if you were nothing but a fly. But... I guess that's what you get when you're treated like a true god.

Background

[[ The Thick of The Jungles ]]

"I was born in a land far away from these so called empires and the humans that constantly seek revenge on the pathetic excuses for fighters. It was a land of jungle and immense humidity...."

Not all felines have the same dark and violent pasts as those of the empires and inner city. Some have a bloody past that leaves them unmarked on the outside, meaning that no visible scars can be seen, but that doesn't mean that they have not been tainted within. These felines are few and far between; monsters that hid within the heart of their own souls, searching for darkness wherever they go.

Pallis was born in the great temple of light, or at least, that is what he recalls his mother calling it upon the day he opened his eyes for the first time. The temple was know to many as a death sentence, for those that entered as a slave or traitor were often sacrificed to the great and might Jaguar God within. Pallis's father was that such jaguar upon the young cub's growing up, and it was assumed by his mother that he, too, would gain the title due to his large size upon birth and healthy coat of blue/grey. The markings under his eyes were the same as his father's, though no other cub in any of Giovanni and Nariza's litters had said markings. Instead, Ariehma, who was his only litter mate, had the same rich yellow coat as his mother's, as did Nagita and Balthazar, born in later litters, and of course, the final siblings, Voltius, had a pelt as black as night.

"There was none of this fighting... None of this so called worship that these hunters go through on a daily basis. Our food was not thrown to us by the hands of our so called masters We were our own masters, our own fighters."

His cubhood was nothing but preparation for the legacy his father had given him upon birth. Training began at an early age, and because of this, Pallis had no time for the fun and games of childhood. Instead, he fought and brought down prey twice as big as him with his father's help and began to fight and kill other Jaguars that were entering the territory without permission. There were few and far between that would much as dare touch any land that was marked with the sacred eye of Giovanni, and those that did rarely lived to tell the tale... that is... unless they were in search of a mate with the sons and daughters of the legend. Of course, those were few as well, since most of the cubs left shortly after their second year.

The only cub to stay was Pallis, and soon, the humans realized that he was to be worshiped as Giovanni had been.

[[ Hides A Killing Spree ]]

"They have no idea what it really means to be worshiped."

Pallis quickly grew into a strong and formidable fighter, taking on a mate in his third year of life and raising cubs. His first born was much like him as well, and so the tradition began once again, but this time, Pallis was called away to the highest of honors, leaving his mate and cubs back at the temple for some time. There was a war looming in the shadows, and because of this, Pallis had to kill more traitors and slaves than usual. He wasn't bothered by this, of course. Eating the fresh and still beating hearts of humans always made his blood pound with delight. It was sick and twisted, but hey, it was better than being killed by the monsters and having them wear his pelt.

He wouldn't have put it past them either, he wasn't blind... It was obvious in their garments that they killed others... the less unique ones, and wore their pelts.

And so there was a time period that Pallis constantly journeyed back and forth between his home and the high alter. His sons were now nearly fully grown and the time to watch them leave their home and gain cubs of their own was nearly upon them. He would be proud to say that Skol would soon take up the mantel, since his daughter was unable to do so. Considering it was against the family rules to allow a female to take on the role of human killer.

[[ It Also Hides The Fires ]]

But alas, Pallis was unable to find out what was to become of his son, nor was he to find out the names of his next litter, which were on the way when he was caught of guard one night.

It was on his way home that he heard them; the voices of humans that were not from his homeland. At first, he pushed away any thoughts of his capture, even death, figuring that they were merely out looking for more of their kind to kill...

Unfortunately, he couldn't have been more wrong. Smoke and sound filled the air, sending his senses into overdrive, and just as he raced out of the dark forest, which was now thick with fire, he ran directly into a net. Tangled up and barely able to breath because of the choking hold on his neck, the jaguar let out a might and ferocious yowl into the night, echoing through the distance. He fought many a man that tried to drag him away, fully escaping at least once, only to be caught within another trap... And then, blackness ensued.

When he woke up, he was chained to a wall, unsure which direction was up and which was down. The earth, which felt strange underpaw, pitched and groaned underneath him, and when he looked up, he saw a human sitting in the corner with a dark smile on his face.

It's easy to say that the jaguar broke through his bounds and quickly dispatched of the man, and as soon as the hatch was open, he went on another rampage. Granted, this time the humans were smarter and caught him before any damage could be instilled up the crew.

[[ And So, The Training Began ]]

It took three months for the group of explorers to return to their home, in which Aelius went directly to work in getting the jaguar trained for the necessary task he had in mind. After watching him kill at least ten of his crew without issue, he knew that a life of fighting in the coliseum would be unsuitable for this killer. He'd serve a better purpose. To become a hunter would be grand of this feline, and the training wouldn't take too long... that is, if the jaguar would be willing to be tamed.

It took more than a few days for Pallis to get used to people, and to be quite frank, he still isn't fully accepting of them, but after finding the companionship with a white tiger that was only two years younger than him, he began to slowly warm up to the city as a whole... Though he still wishes to be home over anything else...

Kallen and Pallis work together well and have a rather interesting relationship, since Kallen nearly worships the ground Pallis walks on, while Pallis himself sees Kallen as another son.... Life in the city hasn't been easy on this oddly colored panther.

Quirks
-- Pallis keeps to himself and isn't seen around others that often

-- He's seen looking at the night sky a lot, thinking of his home and family

:iconebc-hunters:
"I just hope these idiots stay out of my way. I don't care if I'm one of them or not. I'm here to do a job, not waste my time."

:bulletorange: / :bulletpink: Kallen
"This tiger is probably the only feline I can stand being around for more than a few minutes, and that's only because I see him to be as much a part of my family as my daughter and son were... I miss them so much... and a part of me sees Skol in this guy."

:bulletwhite: Torex
"I don't know what to think of the guy. There are times when I respect him and times when I think he's utterly insane. He's a terror to have on our side and I'm glad that he is with us and not them."

:bulletwhite: Thanatos
"I've only met Thanatos a couple of times and the times I have spoken time him have been brief and mostly hunting related. I'm glad to know he's silver gladiator though. He's got his head on better than most hunters do now a days."

:bulletwhite: Troy
"I don't know what to think of this guy, but he seems to have experience with fighting. I don't know exactly how to bother speaking with him though."

:bulletblack: Phoebus
"I'm glad this feline is gone, he and Cosette both sucked at leading the hunters."

:bulletwhite: Scaeden
"He's supposedly the new hunter leader appointed by the emperor himself... Or so that's what I've been told I don't exactly know what to think of him, but as of right now anything would be better than our two previous leaders... "

:bulletpurple:Venari
Why did those damn empire felines have to kill Venari?

:bulletred: Iota
"He thinks he's a great hunter when in reality he needs to get his act together."

:bulletwhite: Juno
"I think Juno will eventually become a really great asset to the hunters."

:bulletwhite: Furie
"I've seen him about, he helped capture Sugarra... I guess he's alright. He'll probably be a good hunter, at least from what I've seen..."

:bulletred: Lux
"This runt is related to Furie? She's not even fit to be a hunter! She should go back to her owners, fight in the ring for a few years, and come back when she's older."

:bulletred: Maia
"She thinks she's tough and acts like nobody can hurt her. I don't like her, nor do I trust her."

:iconebc-lightning:
These felines didn't see the attack coming, and to be honest, they're definitely not the smartest bunch of felines I've seen. Easy pickings. I'm certain I will return on more hunts
Note: Names are here but that doesn't mean Pallis actually knows the character's name!

:bulletred: / :bulletwhite: Viatrix
"She's going to be leader of this rag tag empire? If I wasn't so set on capturing her I'd have to say I felt sorry for her, but as is, I know she's given me a few marks and I gave her one to remember. Surely she'll learn."

:bulletwhite: Roxanne
"One of the felines we brought in. She's just fodder, a lot like the others that we attacked and brought home."

:bulletwhite: Barak
"I don't know about this guy, but apparently Drusa says this guy is a terrible fighter. I wouldn't know personally, but I figure she's probably right."

:bulletred: Accalia
"Traitorous scum. She deserves to be killed, but I figure Scaeden has "better" plans for her. She joined these felines ranks and then fought for them in the battle. It's her fault they're all here, but I doubt any of those cats are smart enough to realize it."

:bulletwhite:Dehlia
"Kallen likes complaining about her a lot, I guess she fought for the cub, Mako, and was the only one to realize he had been taken, but I'm not too sure, nor do I entirely care. I just know she forced Kallen to replace his armor and brought him to shame. I wouldn't be surprised if she was one of the few smaller breeds that were trained to fight in the pits."

:bulletwhite: Mako
"Scaeden is working with this cub and trying to brainwash him into fighting against his own empire when he grows up. I have to admit, it's a smart plan... but will it work?"

:bulletwhite: Cheino
"She cries a lot when she thinks nobody else is looking and seems to be dead set on turning us into scraps. I don't think she realizes just how outranked she is by most of us."

:bulletwhite: Sugarra
"Furie and Juno had to put up a big fight against this girl, from what I understand. So she's got spunk, but I'm not exactly sure if there's really anything more I can say about her. I haven't met her and what I've heard is just word of mouth, after all."

:bulletwhite: Nisip
"She was brought in with the others. Not sure what to think of her and honestly, I'm not going to try and find out either. She's apparently a good fighter, so I'll have to keep my eye on her."

:bulletred: Abiola
"One leader down, four to go. Abiola was more Scaeden's catch than mine, though there isn't really much I can say on the matter. I at least helped with the final strike... but that brings me no gold."

:iconebc-fire:
"Quote to be added once Pallis meets more Fire Empire felines"

:bulletred: Soren
"The leader of Fire Empire, I don't care what he's done or about Scaeden's personal hatred for the guy. I just want the money. I need to get home."

Roleplay Example
Out of the shadows a low growl sounded from the back of his throat, rumbling from his very gut out of his open maw. Green eyes flashed as nostrils flared in anger. The blue jaguar appeared from the shadows, Pallis, one of the elder hunters that had been brought in from a far away land came up behind Furie and the now cowering Lux that was behind him. He sniffed, staring down at the apprentice with his angry gaze.

He snuffed, his cape billowing in the breeze as he looked down at the stupidly "heroic" apprentice that had appeared with Scaeden. He thought he was a hero to the hunters because he brought back four felines from the shadow empire? Pah, Venari had once caught an entire patrol with only a single feline at his side. This was no time to stand up for a family member, even if it was a younger sibling. Slowly, he unsheathed his claws, the growl suddenly dying off as he opened his mouth. "Furie, you of all apprentices should know better than to talk out against an elder hunter." The darker colored jaguar hissed out, his voice ending with the notation that he needed to shut his mouth. "Just because Lux is younger does not make her any less guilty of talking down to a feline that should be respected. An elder hunter deserves respect no matter how much they have done. After all, they were the ones that managed to get through their lives in the coliseums, fought against others to gain their positions amongst our ranks and most importantly, they are older than you."

He grunted, his tail lashing back and forth as he shoved past the two apprentices and padded up to the large barbary lion without another word, he stood there, eyeing the disgrace of hunters and finally found the urge to speak up. "As everybody knows, I was put in charge by Pheobus to take care of the bounty hunters until a hunter leader was hand picked by the emperor of this city that we have all come to call home." He stared down every hunter from under his hood, feeling the need to unsheathe and sheathe his claws as he spoke. It was better than what he currently wanted to do to both Furie and Lux, and if Troy actually reacted in the way that Pallis knew he would...

The gods have mercy on those two cubs, how in the name of Jupiter did they even manage to make it this far? The hunters have grown weak indeed, if they allow us to be disrespected so easily.

"Scaeden has been chosen as the true leader, and because of this, you all need to show him respect. He brought back four felines and survived living with Fire Empire for more than a few months. The only thing is..." He glared at Furie. "We had two apprentices that disappeared longer than that. Furie, Juno, you may have come back with four shadow empire felines, but that does not make up for the fact that you left the city before your training was considered complete. You are still nothing more than an apprentice, and you're lucky you even have your position. Get the hell down off of your pedestal and remember your gods be damned place..." He moved his gaze over the crowd of hunters, his tail flicking towards Kallen. The tiger was like a son to him, and because of this he wanted him to stand united beside Troy and himself. They were going to make sure that Scaeden held the respect of a true hunter.

"You all need to learn that the ways of the hunter is not something you can so easily shirk and disobey. You also need to realize that we are not a group of mangy felines that are treated as deities to these humans that have taken care of us. We have earned our positions and just because you have made a few captures or have attempted a few captures doesn't stop the fact that there have been felines that have brought back five, ten, fifteen, even twenty empire cats over the span of their time as a hunter. We are not to be disrespected, nor are we to be spoken out against. The nonsense stops here." With that, he pounded his paw down upon the ground, pushing himself up as he let loose a loud yowl, his entire body standing upon to feet for a few brief moments before he turned upon the group.

"Anybody that dares speak against the ruling of any leader or silver hunter from now on will have to deal with me."

Hey, so how did Pallis and Viatrix...what is the story there?
